THE HOUSE

The Pines House is a large Victorian villa, which comfortably accommodates twenty people in ten generously proportioned bedrooms, eight of which have en suite bath or shower rooms. It occupies an idyllic location on the edge of Grantown on Spey, with town amenities only a short walk away. The house immediately backs on to the beautiful Anagach Woods, where guests can enjoy a variety of walking routes. The house is the ideal location for exploring the Highlands with the Cairngorm mountains, Aviemore and the A9 only a 15 minute drive away.

The house has plentiful public spaces including two large formal lounges, a dining room and an informal family room, which adjoins an open-plan kitchen/diner. The kitchen is well stocked with quality cooking equipment and with the huge breakfast bar, dining table and adjoining seating area can accommodate all your guests, making it the hub of the house.

The Pines House was previously run as a luxury small hotel and we have maintained this level of quality with televisions, hairdryers and radio-alarms in every room. There is plenty of equipment available for our younger guests, with a spacious games room with kids toys and books in abundance. Oil, electricity, logs, high quality towels and linen are all included in the rental cost. There is free wi-fi access, cd, ipod docking station and DVD players and a library of music and films as well as books and games for you to enjoy.

The Pines House has a very large, peaceful and enclosed mature garden, which has its own private woodland and kids play area. From the seating/BBQ area guests can watch red squirrels and other wildlife. The gate at the end of the garden leads directly into woods and on to the Speyside Way, with many miles of footpaths and cycle trails.

ACCOMMODATION DETAILS

  • Kitchen/Family Room - Our large, open-plan kitchen/diner is well equipped with a large induction hob, double oven and plenty of fridge and freezer space. We have installed two sinks, a commercial dishwasher and have provided a washing machine, microwave and plate warmer. Seating in this area is ample at the breakfast bar, the dining table or next to the wood burning stove in the adjacent family room.

  • Catering - The Pines House is primarily self-catering, but catered meals can be arranged at additional cost. We will be happy to pass on the details of a very experienced and adaptable caterer who will be delighted to discuss your catering needs, from freezer filling and packed lunches to fine dining with waiter service.

  • Dining Room - This south facing formal dining room can accommodate all your guests.

  • Sitting Room - This sunny ground floor sitting room has a 40 inch TV and DVD player. Alternatively you can sit in the bay window seating relaxing with items from the house book collection.

  • Drawing Room - The large upstairs drawing-room has 4 large sofas and can seat the majority of your guests. It is well stocked with with cd's, games and books and is a wonderful place to retire to in the evening in front of the open fire.

  • Boot Room - We have recently created a drying/boot-room which has ample hanging/storage space for coats/shoes/buggies/luggage.

  • Heating/Open Fires - There is oil central heating and fireplaces in the sitting room and drawing-room. We also have wood burners in the family and dining rooms.

  • Bedrooms - We have ten bedrooms, eight of which are en suite. Four bedrooms have zip and link twin beds, which easily convert into super kingsize beds. Two other rooms are kingsize, three are doubles and we also have one double bunk room (i.e. double bunk below a single upper bunk).

  • Linen - Luxury linen and towels are all included in the rental cost.

  • Bathrooms - The eight en suite bathrooms have either baths and showers or shower units. One additional bathroom is available for the two non-en suite bedrooms. There are two WC's, one on the ground and one on the first floor.

  • Disabled Facilities - A large en suite bedroom is located on the ground floor. This room may be suitable for guests with special access requirements, just contact us to discuss your needs.

  • Children's Facilities - We have a large games room for kids toys & books. Various garden games are available, including a 14ft trampoline, large twin tower climbing frame with swings and slide. Cots & high chairs and plenty of kitchen equipment.

  • Outdoor Facilities - The Pines House has a very large mature garden with its own private woodland, patio with seating area and BBQ.

  • Local facilities - There are shops, pubs, eateries, a garage, playparks, tennis courts and a public swimming pool/gym all within walking distance of the house.

  • Parking - There is sufficient parking for 10 cars in the private car park and safe additional on-street parking.

  • Telecom Facilities - There is free wi-fi access.

  • Smoking - The Pines House is a non-smoking house.

  • Pets - We will accept one well behaved dog for an additional fee of £30. We would ask guests to refrain from letting dogs go on the furniture or in the bedrooms.
